Ormiston Shelfield Community Academy is an exciting and dynamic place to work. We are an oversubscribed secondary academy with over 1400 students on roll at Key Stages 3-5. Our core drivers of Outcomes, Values and Choices are at the heart of our daily actions and interactions and we pride ourselves on building strong relationships based on mutual respect, at all levels.


We are looking to recruit a Teacher of History to:

  • Develop, plan and deliver effective and high-quality learning experiences for all students.
  • Be accountable for the learning and achievement of all students following the courses they teach.


The History department at Ormiston Shelfield Community Academy is an experienced, welcoming, committed team of dedicated subject specialists. Our departmental staff have excellent working relationships with each other and a history of supporting and working with the wider school community. We strive to ensure that all of students have the historical knowledge and skills to access their chosen future destinations by offering a broad, well sequenced curriculum from KS3 to KS5. This is a supportive environment in which to work, and the team are always looking to enhance their skills, creativity and competencies in the teaching and learning of History.


As part of your wider duties and responsibilities, you are required to promote and actively support the Academy’s responsibilities towards safeguarding.
