About The Role

Teacher of Art KS3/KS4 and potentially KS5– Full time/part time required September 2024 to join our successful team.

The ability to teach GCSE and/or A Level Photography would be desirable.

The school seeks to appoint a proactive and dedicated Teacher of Art (Full time/part time) who has a passionate belief in art education as a force for good. The postholder should be a highly supportive and student-centred teacher who is adaptable in nurturing and negotiating creative learning. They should have a good understanding of art histories and their complications, alongside enthusiasm for contemporary and collaborative practices. A willingness to contribute to extra-curricular arts opportunities such as departmental exhibitions and residential trips would also be of great benefit.

This presents an exciting opportunity for a recently qualified or suitably qualified experienced teacher wishing to progress their career.

St Peter’s is an ’all through school’ that was designated GOOD with OUTSTANDING featuresby Ofsted in September 2017. It is delightfully situated on the Dorset Coast with ready access to the New Forest, both areas rich with opportunities for outdoor pursuits.

Keeping Children Safe in Education

The school will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. This check will be part of a safeguarding check, and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children. All aspects of social media and internet searches will be conducted. As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination, a person who will not on the appointment panel will conduct the searches and will only share information if and when findings are relevant and of concern.
