Do you have a passion for creativity and the ability to inspire our students?

We are seeking an enthusiastic part time teacher to join our committed and experienced Art department on 0.6 FTE. Our students are our greatest asset. This is the role for you if you want to develop your teaching practice to be the best and genuinely believe in the ability of all students to succeed. Please note this is an fixed term contract that will initially last until August 2022.

We are looking for a teacher who is highly organised, resilient and enthusiastic. You will have:
  • a degree level qualification and Qualified Teacher Status
  • a commitment to high academic and behavioural standards
  • effective teaching, student management and communication skills.
To Succeed In This Role, You Will Need To

This is an important role for our academy as we continue our journey to achieve outstanding status.
  • plan teaching to ensure progression of all students
  • monitor results to ensure continuous improvement to teaching
  • carry out form tutor responsibilities for an assigned group of students.
About The Burgess Hill Academy

The Burgess Hill Academy is a secondary school for 11 to 16-year olds in Burgess Hill, West Sussex. We challenge and support our pupils to believe in their best, providing an academic focus with a determination to support wellbeing and employability skills. In 2020 we have enhanced our learning environment with refurbished classrooms, science labs and outdoor areas. We offer 240 student places each year and have a total capacity of 1200.
