Job description
KPMG’s Compliance & Transformation practice is an exciting key area of growth within the firm and is a national team which works with clients to manage and transform their tax and statutory obligations across their business, which is increasingly key in today’s challenging environment. This enables our clients to leverage KPMG’s compliance and transformation expertise to drive better visibility, greater efficiency and improved risk management across their organisation and responsibilities.
We are winning new clients and are growing our team as a result of these successes.
We are looking for talented assistant managers to join us with experience in a broad range of areas including:
- Tax compliance expertise
- Engagement management experience
- Ad hoc tax advisory experience
- Tax reporting experience (preferred but not essential)
We are offering full time roles with flexible working arrangements which include, early or late starts to fit around other commitments, shorter working days etc. We would be happy to discuss your own requirements and our range of flexible working arrangements in more detail, should that be of interest.
The team is principally based in Canada Square, London, but location for the right candidate is flexible.
Role & responsibilities
- Supporting the delivery of corporate tax compliance engagements and the management of compliance outsourcing contracts;
- Responding to client requests for ad hoc technical advice;
- Drafting advice to clients on the tax implications of new legislation;
- Developing lasting client relationships across a portfolio of clients and actively building a network and range of experience to help address client needs;
- Supporting on sales activities by working with more senior members of the team to generate additional work opportunities for both existing clients and targets, supporting proposals and propositions across functions, sectors and accounts;
- Supporting clients with their group/statutory Tax Reporting needs; including delivery and project management on global outsource contracts under US GAAP and IFRS;
- Providing tax technical input for audit of tax on a mix of listed and non-listed multinational groups;
The Person
Qualifications and skills:
We welcome applications from those qualified by experience as well as ATT/CTA/ACA or equivalent qualifications. Tax reporting skills are also desirable but not essential.
Knowledge and Experience
- Strong working knowledge and experience of UK corporate tax legislation and compliance with a focus on large and complex groups;
- Project management/co-ordination skills and experience (e.g. on large/global compliance outsourcing engagements or similar projects);
- Takes personal responsibility and accountability for own work. Sustains a high level of drive, shows enthusiasm and a positive attitude when coping with pressure at work;
- Analyses problems, identifies core issues, investigates, evaluates and integrates information;
- Builds the reputation of KPMG through the quality of work, knowledge and experience.
- Builds co-operative relationships and fosters an environment in which everyone’s opinion is valued
- Strong interpersonal skills with strong oral and written communication skills. Communicates with impact, in a way that is open, honest, consistent and clear.
