Job Description

We are looking for a talented Systems Analyst who has the experience necessary to help to maintain and work towards developing our existing infrastructure and troubleshoot problems as they arise. We are an established logistics company with a team of highly dedicated professionals who give their all to continue growing development and expansion of our systems so updates and other maintenance tasks don’t get in the way of daily operations. We’re interested in automating as many of our processes as possible to reduce the potential for human error.

For the right person, the Company is willing to provide additional training to develop this chosen candidate towards a ’Systems Engineer’ type role.

Additional Information

Monday - Friday (40 hours a week)

Salary: £24,000-£26,000 p/a

Role and Responsibilities:

• Monitor existing systems to ensure structural integrity
• Oversee the development and installation of new hardware and software
• Install and configure operating systems and other software and routinely test installed software for glitch detection and other issues
• Provide technical direction to IT contractors
• Work towards designing and implementing security systems and redundant backups to maintain data safety
• Work towards writing custom scripts to reduce the need for human intervention
• Optimise existing systems configuration to achieve operational objectives
• use best business practice to improve efficiency, by reducing operating costs while increasing productivity
• act as the main point of contact for all IT service issues
• project management;
• calculating and comparing costs for required goods or services to achieve maximum value for money;
• managing and leading change to ensure minimum disruption to core activities;
• using performance management techniques to monitor and demonstrate achievement of agreed service levels and to lead on improvement;
• responding appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise and dealing with the consequences.

Qualifications and Education Desired:

• COMPTIA A+
• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering or related field preferred
• 3+ years’ experience in system analytics and IT support required
• Understanding of the Supply Chain industry (ex : TMS, WMS, ERP) is a plus
• Proven track record of success in installation and maintenance of hardware and software in a commercial setting
• Experience creating automated scripts and software preferred
• Exceptional networking skills and knowledge
• Proved project and supplier management experience would be an advantage
• Eligible to work in the UK (essential)
