Are you looking for a New role ready for the New Year ahead. We have an exciting post available to support individuals with a learning disability within our service in Felixstowe and Trimley. This is a Part time post of 25 hours per week.Drivers would be preferably for this post. Our Trimley Service is a friendly and busy bungalow that supports 3 men all in their 40s. Our service in Felixstowe supports 5 gentlemen with ages ranging from 20-60. The gentlemen we support all have a busy social life and a number of hobbies & interests such as; growing vegetables, seeing family members, meeting friends, attending social activities, talking about current affairs, using their tablet and much more. The person we are looking for would need to have a good sense of humour and an empathetic understanding of the people we support. It is important that you can support with personal care, finances and medication. The people we support can communicate, but you will need to be patient for those that take longer to express their needs. One has little verbal communication, however they communicate using body language, gestures and vocal noises.
As a Support Worker you will need to be flexible, the general shift patterns are from 7.00am-2:30pm or 2.30pm – 10.00pm this will include weekends, evening and sleep ins. You do not need to have a valid UK driving licence as buses run from Ipswich to Felixstowe every 20 minutes. The bungalow is on the bus route so is easy to get to. The train station is also 15 minute walk away. In this role you will have the chance to make a positive difference to someone’s life every day - which is the biggest perk of all! Job ID : 20443
