Working across Devon and Cornwall, Havencare Homes and Support Limited is a forward-thinking charity that provides social care services for people with learning disabilities and autism.

Offering supported living and residential care services, we use a range of approaches to empower individuals, help them to be as independent as possible and nurture their potential with dignity and respect.

We are excited to be recruiting a new team of Support Workers to support an individual in his own home within Supported Living.

The Role

As a Support Worker, you will assist a young man with a learning disability and Autism, who can display behaviours of concern.

Working as part of a new support team, you will promote the individual’s independence, maintaining and promoting life skills, as well as supporting his health and wellbeing.

Taking a resilient, positive approach, you will need to display an upbeat attitude towards supporting people. You will be a great planner, organiser and communicator to support this individual to achieve an outcome focused support plan. You will be a great role model.

About You

To be considered as a Support Worker, you will need:
  • Great planning, organisation and communication skills
  • To be positive and able to act as a superb role model
Ideal candidates will have a driving licence and experience of Autism and Makaton. Previous experience of supporting people with complex needs in supported living would also be an advantage.

If your application is successful, any offer of employment will be subject to:
  • A satisfactory Enhanced DBS check and subsequent registration for the DBS Update Service
  • Two acceptable/satisfactory references
  • Evidence of eligibility/right to work in the UK
The closing date for this role is the 5th August 2021.

Please note this is a two-stage interview process. If you are successful in the first stage, a second interview to meet with the individual’s family will follow.
