Bradbury Court is a Supported Living service, providing accommodation for 9 adults in their own individual flats, we are based in the beautiful village of Ponteland, just past Newcastle Airport.

Bradbury Court is all on ground level, and we are surrounded by well maintained gardens and a beautiful courtyard in the middle, which is maintained by our tenants and their families.

In your new role you will become part of a dedicated team who support the tenants in achieving their goals and aspirations, this will be in line with their PCP.

The role

  • It can be a fast paced service and no two days are the same, on a typical day you will be supporting our tenants with medication and finance management, personal care, support with meals, shopping/cleaning, baking/cooking skills, arts/crafts, games (we have a couple of tenants who love a game of dominoes!)
  • The tenants who live at Bradbury Court, have a range of support needs from learning disability, physical disability, acquired brain injury and support with mental health.
  • Under normal circumstances (pre-Covid) our tenants are supported to live very busy lives, attending work, woodwork shops, day services, visiting places of interest, breaks away UK & abroad.

About You

  • You should be positive and motivated to help and support vulnerable people and want to contribute to making positive changes to their lives.
  • Ideally you will have some experience or understanding about safeguarding, confidentiality, risk assessments and support plans/person centred plans.
  • Experience is desirable but not essential. We look for people who show a genuine interest in enhancing the lives of the people they support.

Our location

As picturesque as our setting is, it is also not that easily accessible by public transport and can throw up problems in getting to work. Given the location of Bradbury Court, public transport may not always be available on weekends, so you will have to ensure you have the means of getting to work.

Leonard Cheshire welcomes applications from all sections of the community. We actively encourage applications from people with a disability, supporting where possible, your requirements for reasonable adjustments.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and adults at risk. A satisfactory disclosure check (PVG membership in Scotland) is required for this post. References will be obtained for all roles.
