SEN Teaching Assistant - Learning Support Assistant - 1:1 Support Special Needs Assistant - Care Assistants - Support Workers Do you thrive on working within a small team? Are you passionate about making a difference and improving the lives of children? I would love to speak to Learning Support Assistants, Teaching Assistants, Care Assistants, Special Needs Assistants, Support workers and Care Assistants that would be interested in working within a school that looks after students aged 7-19 years with a diagnosis or Asperger’s Syndrome and other associated difficulties in the Autistic Spectrum in Lymington.
’’The work of staff is based upon understanding the ability of the student to manage academically, socially and emotionally in various situations. Individualised plans are designed to meet students’ specific needs, and these plans form the basis of the four-way partnership between the student, school, family and local authority’’ Starfyn Education currently have a wide range of exciting full-time positions starting immediately that cover all stages within an SEN setting. Your main duties will include: * Provide guidance, educational and emotional support to students.
- Assisting students in overcoming their learning barriers. * Provide learning support in a 1-1 setting when required. * Providing feedback to the teacher and SENco regarding progress or problems.
- Attend planning meetings with SENco. * Give positive encouragement, feedback and praise to reinforce and sustain individual pupils’ efforts. * Attend to pupils’ personal needs including social, health, physical, hygiene, first aid and welfare.
- To make sure each pupil can access the full range of learning experiences available to them. * Communicate information about individual students to the teacher when necessary. The following skills and qualifications are essential or desired: * Driving License and Car is essential.
- Experience within an ASD settings. * Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate across all levels. * The ability to use initiative and can work well under pressure.
