We are an experienced and successful family run company in Gateshead. We are scheduling interviews for new staff members to join our caring, fun, and happy staff team. You will be supporting a service user in an Independent supported living environment that has been newly refurbished. Technology has been set up around the home to reduce paperwork, which will enable you to engage in meaningful activities. Within this role, you will be responsible for promoting independence, helping to update the service users support plan to improve the quality of the service user’s life, supporting the service user to access facilities within the community and assisting with his personal development. Contracted hours:32 hours plus 2 sleep ins x 3 posts23 hours x 1Duties include: Helping to maintain support plans to massively improve the quality of people’s lives. Supporting service user to access the Community. Assisting service user with personal care, using a hoist with other staff support. Helping the service user keep in touch with everyone that is important to him, including families and friends. Supporting the service user to live independently in his own home. This will include supporting with cooking, household jobs. Working on a ROTA, including weekends, evenings, bank holidays, sleep ins. The service user: The service user is an enthusiastic middle-aged man who likes outdoors and the community. The service user loves music especially Reggae/ Bob Marley. The service user would like to be involved in food preparation and cooking. The Ideal Candidate: Positive, enthusiastic with a great attitude. Outgoing and passionate about improving the service user’s quality of life. Someone who can assist with personal care and use equipment i.e., hoist.
