Langley House Trust has a fantastic opportunity available for a*Support Workers (Care) to join our team based inRochester. You will join us on afull time, permanent basis* working 40 hours per week, some of which will be unsociable. The post may include some travel and overnight stops can be expected. The post may also require you to work from a different location from time to time. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £21,583 per annum plus pension and excellent benefits

We want the right person to join our team. Is that you? As a Support Worker (Care)you will support clients with varying needs including mental health and learning difficulties, to move forward with their lives. Working within our friendly team, you’ll act as a key worker to designated clients and supporting them to achieve the outcomes laid out in their care/support plan. Your professional and flexible nature will allow you to positively impact on those who you support and the rest of the team around you, allowing you to flourish and develop in this diverse and rewarding role.
Key responsibilities:

  • Key work and support clients generally within your project
  • Provide personal care to identified clients
  • Take an active role in the assessment and management of risk
  • Maintain a clear and calm manner whilst managing client risk
  • Ensure that all medication within the project is managed in line with Trust policy and procedures
  • Manage client meetings and facilitate the Client Inclusion and Training representatives
  • Assist in the management of the referral process within the project to achieve agreed occupancy levels
  • Apply Emergency First Aid response to clients and any other person in the building/grounds

The Shrubbery is a project that supports 15 clients from age 18 up to 90 with varying needs including mental health and learning difficulties. You would be part of a friendly team of 16 staff who would agree that no two days are the same.

This role is based at a CQC registered care home and as such it is our understanding that any successful candidate would need to be and remain fully vaccinated against Covid-19 (unless a medical exemption applies) under the above regulations. We have very clear guidelines in place around COVID-19 to make all of our workplaces a COVID safe place to work. There is also currently regular testing in place for all frontline adult social care staff. PPE is fully supplied and enforced to continue to support a safe environment for our clients and employees. In our work settings delivering care, we also offer a clothing allowance for you to buy some extra clothes to ensure our employees wear freshly laundered clothes on every shift. There are changing facilities and lockers provided for this.
