Our fabulous #TeamNLSLDrumpellier are recruiting now for an understanding and dedicated *male colleague with great communication skills to join them as a Support Practitioner on a full-time, permanent basis covering Cleland and Coatbridge.

It would be great if you have experience in supporting individuals with complex needs, but this isn’t a deal breaker as we recruit on values and transferrable skills. We’ll pay you for your training and give you all the practical skills you’ll need. We’ll even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification too!

The Role

In this role you will be a peripatetic Support Practitioner, supporting two men who live in their own homes in Coatbridge and Clelland. Both individuals are diagnosed with a learning disability, autism and other complex care needs and so are supported 24hr per day which means the shifts will include sleepovers.

The great thing about this job is no two days are ever the same. As a Support Practitioner, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting with all aspects of daily living including support with housework, administration of medication, assistance with personal care and the management of personal finances.

In Clelland, C is looking to be supported to build his confidence up within the community, he loves spending time in the car out for a drive, going on a walk and having a lunch in a cafe or two. At home, C enjoys interacting with his sensory items and relaxing watching video’s online. C is looking for someone who is calm but also full of fun as he is also a bit of a thrill seeker who enjoys going to a theme park to find the biggest roller coaster.

In Coatbridge, P is a very active young man who is always out on an adventure every day of the week with his support. P enjoys talking about various subjects from politics to history to travel. P is looking for someone who he can have good conversation and banter with, help him to stay calm and to explore new and old places in his local community, country and abroad together.

The person we support has their own mobility car so it is essential you hold a full UK, manual driving licence with at least one year experience of driving.

All we’ll need you to bring is:-
  • Full UK, driving licence
  • A caring and compassionate attitude
  • The ability to work well in a team
  • Great communication and organisational skills
  • A positive attitude with a willingness to learn
  • Confidence in the use of computers
Shift Patterns

As we’re dedicated to providing the best support, tailored to the needs of each individual 24/7, which includes, sleepovers, weekends and public holidays. Shifts are normally 10 to 13 hours.

Sleepovers are not included in your contracted hours and you’ll receive an additional payment of £105 for every sleepover shift you work.
