Howdens Joinery is looking for a Supply Planner to join our busy Inbound Supply Chain team, at our offices based in Howden, East Yorkshire, reporting directly to one of our Planning Managers. This role would suit someone looking to build a career in Supply Chain. You will produce and execute a consistent plan of requirements in an ever-changing demand environment, where planning must be of the highest quality.

As Howdens undergoes an exciting period of transformation and growth, the role offers the opportunity for the Supply Planner to ensure the product is 100% available in the Primary Distribution Centre to replenish depot demand, whilst maintaining the correct commercial balance between inventory and service.

Joining a team of 30 Supply Chain and Logistics planners, you will be provided with ongoing support and development, whilst managing primary inventory levels of c.£200m, encompassing around 1000 SKUs. You will develop and measure the supply base, increasing the flexibility and agility to service our business model and interpret sales demand from over 800 depots.

A confident communicator with the ability to build effective relationships, both internally and externally, your role will see you working with and developing the supplier relationship as well as working with purchasing, quality and logistics to meet key business objectives.

What you will bring:

  • Exposure to working in a Supply Chain environment is preferred.
  • Excellent IT systems skills are essential (ideally exposure to SAP/ APO) for Planning and production Scheduling.
  • Knowledge of demand planning, or logistics, and purchasing is desirable.
  • A confident communicator who can use their skills to persuade and influence.
