About The Pets At Home Group

Pets at Home Group Plc is the UK’s leading pet care business; our commitment is to make sure pets and their owners get the very best advice, products and care. We have over 450 stores, over 310 Groom Rooms and 440 First Opinion Vet Practices. Our business is fast-paced, innovative and fun and it’s our people that make the real difference. This is a fantastic opportunity to come and work for an award winning company who put people at the very heart of everything they do.

About The Role

We’re looking for a Supply Planner to join us on an 18 moth fixed term contract. The role will be based out of our Support Office in Handforth (Cheshire) but we can offer a blend of office/remote working over the course of your working week.

As a Supply Planner, you’ll work closely as part of the Commercial Team to manage product ranges from a supply base sourced from the UK and the Rest of the World. You will be accountable for the complete stock life cycle of product ranges, managing from introduction to exit across all channels. This includes on time launch, in line with the critical path and cost-effective exit management of discontinued stock.

You’ll work to ensure products are distributed from the warehouse and on shelf targets are maintained whilst controlling stocks.

Key Responsibilities will include;
  • Raising and reviewing purchase orders in line with sales forecasts and events
  • Maximizing availability across all channels whilst achieving stock turn targets and driving efficient cash flow
  • Working closely with the Distribution Centers to ensure stock intake from suppliers is phased in an appropriate manner, as well as working with our supply base to drive initiatives that will improve the efficiencies of the distribution centers.
  • Maintaining and updating relevant reports to support day to day trading using appropriate systems
  • Deputising for line manager when necessary
About You

We are looking for a committed, ambitious and motivated individual who has the drive to improve and develop their own skills but also someone who is a real team player. You should be able to work both independently (with minimal supervision) as well as part of a team. A supply planning background is desirable, but not essential, and you must have an understanding of merchandise planning and its benefits.

A supply planner’s day is never the same, yes you will have to place daily orders-but this is the nature of the role. If however you love change and are always “thinking outside the box” for ways to improve, this may just be the position for you.

You will need to be flexible, and have excellent time management skills, but you will also be able to evolve and develop into your role. A lot of your day will be spent on Excel so it is important that you have a full understanding of the programme.

If you have a passion for pets, and thrive in a fast-paced world, and strive for continuous improvement, we want to hear from you! Press the Apply now button at the bottom of the page and in a few short stages, your application will be submitted.

Please note that we reserve the right to close the vacancy prior to the application deadline/closing date once a sufficient number of applications have been received.
