Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self starting individual to join our Cyber and Intelligence supply chain team in an evolving and dynamic organisation within our National Security Solutions (NSS) business area.

We are continuously growing and require a motivated individual to join our team to provide supply chain support to our direct programme engagements; through early engagement with suppliers through relationship and performance management to closure of the programme. This includes the implementation and improvement of working practises to help Northrop Grumman become a partner of choice for our suppliers.

How you will make a difference

The role requires strong relationship management across a broad range of stake holders including programme teams, legal and trade compliance; understanding the business needs from various key stakeholders; remaining aligned with the growth and direction of NSS; establishing and maintaining strong links with our eco-system to understand the market and to ensure our pipeline of work is fully support by our eco-system technology and capabilities.

Role Responsibilities:

Supplier Relationship Management

The Supply Chain / Subcontracts Officer is responsible for the agreement and management of supplier contracts, sub-contracts and service agreements and for 3rd party pricing into for multiple programmes within Northrop Grumman through;

  • Early engagement with our eco-system, including early engagement documentation such as NDAs and Teaming Agreements.
  • The creation, review and recommendations of supply chain aspects such as evaluation criteria, preparation and negotiation of subcontracts terms, licence terms, scope and pricing working closely with business managers, customer facing commercial, finance, legal and Trade Compliance teams.
  • Support the ongoing development of the supply chain including relationship management, risk review and performance monitoring through the bid and programme lifecycles.

Stakeholder Management and Engagement

  • Working closely with the other members of the commercial team and other stakeholders to ensure that the eco-system continues to support the growth of Northrop Grumman and aligns to the technological and capability growth plans.
  • Work with the programme teams to deliver seamless service to our customers on a day to day basis.
  • Manage profile and expectations of the business ensuring that our service levels expectations are exceeded.

Continuous Improvement

  • Working with all stakeholders, understand the areas of improvement in supply chain to ensure that NG is the partner of choice for our eco-system.
  • Ensure that our ways of working meet the ongoing requirements of the business in a light touch way whilst still ensuring a robust eco-system process is in place.

Essential Criteria:

  • Proven experience of supply chain management in a business/IT/engineering environment
  • Able to effectively engage with a wide range of stakeholders and customers at all levels whilst planning, executing and coordinating bid work, negotiations and active contract management.
  • Sound understanding of contract law and standard terms

Desirable Criteria:

  • Working knowledge of contracts, terms and conditions used by UK MOD/UK government.
  • Good awareness of UK/US export regulations.

Additional information:

  • The post-holder must be able to obtain, hold and maintain UK Government clearances
