The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for achieving differentiating supply chain performance through innovative sourcing strategies and supply chain processes through a strong culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.


The role is responsible for all aspects of supply chain management including commercial negotiations and contract compliance, total acquisition cost optimization, product life-cycle management, supply demand planning and inventory management, supply base performance metrics and continuous improvement, risk mitigation, and longer-term supply strategy development and implementation.


The position requires strong cross-functional communication and collaboration with our local and international product development teams, sourcing teams, and suppliers. A successful Supply Chain Manager is a high-quality communicator and leader, detail oriented and analytical, has a strong commercial background, and effectively drives project execution.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES


Commercial Management –
use of financial and commercial acumen to manage supplier negotiations alongside the global team. Ensure contract compliance with all key suppliers, aligned to HUSCO’s short and long term operational objectives. Drive overall cost competitiveness throughout the supply base through optimization, negotiation, identification of efficiency opportunities, design/manufacturing opportunities, and identification of new suppliers. Perform high level to detailed capacity planning with suppliers. Resolve issues with suppliers who are having difficulty meeting Husco needs. Project management of reduced cost sourcing opportunities.


Total Acquisition Cost Optimization –
operational and commercialmanagement of logistics to ensure cost-effective movement of parts to meet production requirements. Management and minimization of shipping costs, with particular attention to reducing expedited freight. Ability to incorporate items such as freight, duty, inventory holding costs, capital charges into costing models & decision making to provide holistic costing strategies.


Product Life-Cycle Management –
ensuring engagement in new product introduction. Acting as Supply Management lead within Husco Development Processes (HDP), ensuring that the team are engaged in delivering against project plans as identified within HDP. Co-ordination and management of change management programmes to support and develop sustainable supply chain solutions that are aligned to theglobal supply management strategy. Effective and pro-active management of DPARS to support new product introductions, supplier changes and engineering changes. Management of product end-cycles, owning run-out & phase-out projects successfully


Demand Planning & Inventory Management –
effective use of business systems and planning tools and models to support inventory management. Work with internal stakeholders such as the Materials and Sales & Operations Planning group, along with the supply base, to ensure that material flow and levels are optimized at correct levels to support Operations Planning requirements. Creation and management of reporting tools to improve scheduling and incoming inventory management. Ensure alignment of business systems and processes with other global sites. Alignment of supplier/sub-supplier demand scheduling to ensure efficient & low-risk transfer of market demand information.


Supply Chain Performance & Sustainability –
Development, measurement and management of supplier performance. Development and management of metrics and scorecards to support supplier management and development activity, to guide decisions of strategic supply management and to support NCR and quality improvements. Manage supplier selection process, audits and appropriate records. Participate in offshore sourcing initiatives. Work closely with Global Sourcing groups and Supplier Development teams to develop improved Supply Chain Management processes, and actively promote supplier development and continuous improvement activities which support ongoing supply chain performance improvement. Development of risk analysis and risk mitigation tools to support long term stability of key suppliers.


Relationship Management –
maintain excellent relationships at the highest levels within Husco and at critical suppliers within the operating geographic region. Establish and maintain regular communications with these critical internal and external stakeholders. Management of internal communication and co-ordination with Global Supply Management group.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


  • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant vocational qualification in Engineering or Supply Base Management discipline required.
  • Significant experience in supply chain management or development in a manufacturing environment, including experience of managing and minimizing inbound logistics.
  • Relevant experience in supplier sourcing / management preferred
  • Demonstrated high level of commercial awareness and negotiation. Comfortable dealing with multiple foreign currencies.
  • Demonstrated process and part cost reduction through innovative best practice approaches.
  • High level of analytical skill combined with excellent computer skills.
  • Effective trouble shooting, problem solving and organizational skills. Able to handle frequent interruptions, meet tight deadlines, and handle conflict in an effective manner.
  • Ability to interact with people at all levels of responsibility.
  • International and domestic travel up to 50%.
