Job title: Supply Chain Manager

Location: Filton, Bristol. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: £50,000 - £57,000 depending on skills and experiences

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Managing and influencing internal and external stakeholder relationships. Enabling open communication with suppliers to encourage collaboration and innovation where appropriate
  • Supporting the development and implementation of procurement strategy, governance and innovative change programmes, ensuring consistency and effective improvement in procurement services, embedding a culture of continuous improvement and the sharing of best practices
  • Leading and managing the risk and opportunity activities to minimise contractual exposure and maximise contract effectiveness
  • Managing and developing teams to ensure procurement resources are deployed to best effective and that talent is managed in line with Functional requirements and changing business needs
  • Being seen by internal and external stakeholders as a subject expert for Procurement within a business
Essential

Your skills and experiences:
  • Strong and demonstrable people management skills. Coaching and supporting development as required
  • Ability to focus and plan on longer term supplier objectives, including risk manage
  • Ability to build, grow and influence networks across sector, to support collaborative working
  • Excellent interpersonal skills that support collaborative stakeholder relationships
  • Excellent negotiation skills that drive positive business outcomes and ability to influence at all levels
Desirable
  • Will have significant experience working within a procurement and/or similar environment
  • Possess a high standard of Procurement competence in key areas of sourcing, process knowledge, contracting skills and supplier management
  • Excellent project management skills, product awareness, commercial acumen, financial awareness, risk, opportunity management and demonstrate exemplary business acumen

The Supply Chain team: As part of the supply chain team you will required to work within the Type 26 Combat Systems, managing procured packages on a day to day basis but also having a an overarching responsibility to Procurement of Naval Ships.
