Our client is a successful FMCG that is growing, and dynamic with an exciting branded and OL product range supplying major retailers and food service customers.

They are seeking to hire a Supply Chain Manager to support their Operations team.

Management of the Supply Chain Process (Planning, Customer Service, and Logistics)

The role:

• Maintain the safety, legality and quality of products manufactured in accordance with food safety and quality policy

• Line management of Planning, Customer Service, and Logistic teams

• Work closely with commercial, production, warehousing, suppliers and customers to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and develop effective long-term working relationships

• Drive improvements in factory and logistics efficiencies through optimal production planning and management of delivery timetables

• Control finished goods stock levels within agreed parameters, ensuring that sufficient stocks are available at the right time to meet customer requirements

• Monitor and optimise customer fulfilment

• Monitor the daily availability of materials managed by the Purchasing and Tea Buying Teams, challenging as necessary when materials are not available as required

• Keep communication flow with Production and Customer Service teams through meetings and other communication channels, ensuring that all departments involved are aware of any plan changes/requirements and of any other potential issues

• Manage Planning team working closely with sales, marketing, tea buyers and production - creating a rolling blending and production plan and ensure stock is produced and delivered on time in full

• Work closely with Manage Purchasing team to ensure best packaging at best prices with best service levels

• Work closely with customers to provide accurate sales forecasts

• Review current, systems, practises and processes and make strategic recommendations for improvement.

• Take on other ad hoc projects as required

• Take an active part in the continuous improvement of all operations ensuring adherence to Company Health and Safety Policies at all times

The candidate:

5 years minimum supply chain management experience, ideally with a grocery manufacturing business (UK FMCG)

Relevant experience and demonstrable success in production planning

Team player with excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills

Track record of working collaboratively with other managers and departments

Excellent track record in leading and inspiring teams

Experience of ERP implementation would be advantageous

Negotiation skills and a track record of success in purchasing and getting the best from suppliers would be advantageous

Customer interface experience and collaborative working style to achieve best in class service levels and customer satisfaction

Systems literate and capable including mainframe, and Microsoft packages

What’s on offer?

Salary in the region of £45,000 - £55,000
