Role: Supply Chain Manager

Location: Nuneaton

Salary:£55,000 - £65,000

We are partnering with a leading organization, which is currently seeking a Supply Chain Manager to join their team based in Nuneaton.

This individual will be responsible for coordinating, organizing, and overseeing all activities involved in the identification, acquisition, production, and distribution of the company’s goods.

Responsibilities
  • Exam plans to ensure that every level of the supply chain, all the way back to the source, functions properly
  • Deal with suppliers across EMEA
  • Oversee the internal team and maintain positive working relationships with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
  • You will lead, manage, develop, and train the analysts, assistants, and administrators
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with a logistics provider
  • Ensure performance is being tracked and recorded to help with continual improvement
  • Identify, evaluate, and suggest cost-cutting options in the supply chain, as well as develop operational strategies
  • Ensure stakeholder participation, and data veracity is being ensured
  • Determine market rates for certain lanes by obtaining and verifying transportation costs from logistics service providers
  • Evaluates the operational viability and cost-effectiveness of proposed logistical routes
  • Conducts audits of logistics service providers in relation to consignment movement, temperature, and delivery
  • Compare local and international freight invoices against contract rates
  • In conjunction with the director, resolves any service provision concerns that may emerge
  • Conduct essential visits to suppliers, logistics service providers, and freight forwarders
  • Tracks logistics expenses, such as those associated with fuel, shipping, and foreign exchange rates
  • Create and maintain a database of domestic and international freight rates, ensuring that the data is current
  • Ensures that all information is current by maintaining a register of legislative requirements
  • Assures compliance with all legal obligations in his or her sphere of influence
  • Oversees the use of programmes for route optimization and transport management for incoming and outgoing freight to make sure that the daily transportation needs of the region and division are satisfied
  • Communicates with pallet pooling vendors to plan and manage national requirements (if applicable)

Requirements
  • Leadership, Team Management, Strong Communicator, Management of 3PL, Cost Savings, Budget Management
  • Knowledge of product life management in the Supply Chain
  • Supply Chain and Logistics industry qualifications would be desirable
  • Staff management experience is essential
  • Minimum 2:2 degree or equivalent
