FlexMedical Solutions provide contract design, development and manufacturing services to medical device OEM’s from our site in Livingston.

We are going through a phase of exciting expansion and are seeking a Supply Chain Manager to join our tight-knit team and play an active role in the company’s continued success.

This role offers a new opportunity within our growing business for a capable individual to lead the Supply Chain function and assume responsibility for all purchasing, planning, supplier management, logistics, and sales (distribution) activities. This is a management role that will be part of the company leadership team and work closely with all other departments in the business to provide seamless service, whilst introducing innovative supply chain processes.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the CEO, you will: -

Provide Team Leadership

o Assume responsibility for all purchasing, planning, supplier management, logistics, and sales (distribution) activities

Oversee Purchasing & Cost Management

o Manage excess and obsolescence position, ensuring appropriate recoveries are achieved as/when appropriate

Meet Quality & Compliance Requirements

o Ensure all supply chain KPIs are implemented, reported, and achieved

o Ensure all relevant NCs CAPAs and complaints are managed and closed effectively

o Work closely with quality to ensure finished goods are released and shipped in a compliant manner, meeting product control plan requirements

Ensure Effective Supplier Management

o Identify, approve, and review suppliers as/when required

o Develop effective working relationships with key suppliers and implement regular, formal reviews

Ensure Adequate Material Controls-

o Ensure effective inventory controls are in place to eliminate likelihood of stock-outs

o Ensure GmP practices are employed in areas of stores, with clear identification of material status at all times

Own Sales & Operations Planning Process

o Ensure all materials and resources are available to meet plan

Provide Risk Management

o Identify supply, quality, and commercial business risks

Essential to the role: -

  • Qualified to degree level, ideally within a technical or supply chain discipline
  • Considerable, relevant experience in the medical device industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of ISO13485:2016 and CFR 21 Part 820.
  • Expert negotiator, comfortable representing the company with vendors and clients.
  • Highly effective leader and influencer.
  • Skilled user / superuser of ERP systems and able to influence system structure to best service objectives.
  • Excellent planning skills with ability to identify and mitigate risks effectively.

Desirable Technical Skills

It would be beneficial if you: -

  • Have worked in a medical device or pharmaceutical environment.
  • Have experience in the creation of new processes and procedures.
  • Have experience shipping internationally.
  • Have experience dealing with hazardous materials.
