Job Title – Supplier Quality Engineer
Location - Shoreham by Sea
Contract - Permanent opportunities available
Salary – from £45,000 per year, depending on experience
Working Hours/Shifts – Weekday shifts, 8:30am-5:30pm

We’re looking for an Supplier Quality Engineer to join our local team, to help us maintain our supplier quality across our local manufacturing, production and assembly operations.

What will I be doing?

Day to day, you’ll work as part of a small team to create and manage customer quality requirements for our supply chain. We’ll look to you to carry out quantity assurance activities across the supply chain, such as process audits, surveillance visits, and assessment audits.

You’ll be responsible for checking the quality of manufacturing sub-contract processes, making sure that our suppliers maintain drawing and contract standards.

As part of your role, you’ll:

  • Oversee the quality of parts, considering the implications of any product, supplier, facility, and process changes
  • Resolve any parts quality problems by working with suppliers, using 8D and other automotive industry tools
  • Manage supplier issues that arise, identifying, implementing and verifying actions taken to correct the issue
  • Spot opportunities for supplier improvement activities
  • Reporting status against project targets and department KPIs

What do you need from me?

You’ll already have experience in Parts or Supplier Quality Assurance, or have worked in a similar role with transferable skills for supply chain. You’ll be familiar with low volume, series production and product development work, and will have an understanding of manufacturing processes like casting, machining and heat treatment.

You’re a natural problem solver, with a focus on delivering precise and accurate results. You’re comfortable working with quality systems, data and analytics to support your decision making.

You’re a confident communicator, able to present your findings back to suppliers, customers, or internal business stakeholders. You’ll also be comfortable to travel nationally or internationally to support supplier visits where required.
