View My Chain (VMC), owner of the most comprehensive chain data assets in the UK, are hiring a Supplier Manager to become a long-term member of the team that already contains some of the best minds in the business. Key responsibilities of the role are as follows
  • Strategy - Contribute to the execution of VMC data strategy via research to enhance existing and deliver new data sources
  • Supplier Management
    • Consult with new and existing suppliers to ensure they understand our strategy and are best able to support it
    • Manage the company’s development roadmap for acquisition of data and report progress weekly to the leadership team
    • Evaluate and manage the addition of new data sources to existing products
    • Design, define and enhance production processes to be of a higher quality and manage the development of these through to fruition
    • Control research and development activities where appropriate in onboarding new data sources
  • Team Management
    • Task manage indirect logical reports
    • Assist in the development of staff
    • Be the technical lead from a consultative perspective for new data development

Requirements

You are likely to be a person with direct relevant experience within the data marketplace. Furthermore, experience within a property related data business would be a distinct advantage although not essential. You will possess the following experience and skills
  • Substantial and referenceable experience of data acquisition and/or sourcing
  • Understanding of, and experience of, handling location specific datasets
  • Evidence of the ability to document and brief solutions (both novel and via use of existing data assets) for technical teams to implement
  • Work with, offer guidance to, and organise, development teams to build new or enhance existing products
  • Manage teams and people to achieve a common goal
  • Data literacy
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels with internal and external key stakeholders
  • Excellent liaison ability (verbally and written) to translate complexity into meaningful information
In addition to the above, the following skills and experience would be advantageous
  • An understanding of data supply agreements
  • Understanding what is available in the market in recommending new or deeper data assets to procure
  • Consistently improve quality through the re-definition and implementation of data cleansing processes
  • Experience of commercialisation of new products launched
