Value Stream Lead

Role Summary: The Value Stream Leader directly leads a manufacturing team of production personnel to control quality, cost and delivery within their production area.

Key Responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate, motivate and develop the team to drive operational excellence;

  • Act as a coach/mentor for direct reports and provide training for continual development;

  • Nurture a high-performance culture throughout the workforce, dedicated to achieving stretched results

  • Maintain and improve Environment, Health & Safety standards throughout the manufacturing area. Actively participates ;

  • Use, Lead and Coach continuous improvement initiatives to improve, meet and improve KPI performance; Strong use of RCCA (5Why, A3, Gemba, Ishikawa, Poka-Yokey, Data analysis etc)

  • Monitor quality standards are being maintained, troubleshoot and drive to full RFT result;

  • Plan resources to ensure optimum staffing to meet production and efficiency targets;

  • Daily Management System – Combination of KPI metrics online and Visual management T1+T2 with cross functional Team, 5S/ Process adherence audits and Performance management of individuals within your team.

Candidate Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a similar position, within a manufacturing environment is preferred.

  • Strong experience of working within a continuous improvement/ lean manufacturing / 6 Sigma environment with proved record of tools utilisation and facilitation

  • Previous supervisory experience, with a track record of having developed a multi-skilled manufacturing team.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Ability to effectively deal with people at all levels. (shop floor – senior management)

  • Excellent communication and inter personal skills

  • Good problem solving skills combined with an innovative approach.

  • Strong influencing leadership, coaching, motivational and people development skills

  • Strong IT skills (learning new systems)

  • Production planning and co-odinating skills
