Supervisor

It is hard to imagine that the first Entertainer store only opened back in 1981. Today, The Entertainer is the U.K.’s Largest Independent Toy Retailer. We have over 170 UK stores stretched across England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the islands and we are still growing! We are also partnering with a growing number of retailers to show case our brand selling our toys in their retail space.

As a business we own the Early Learning Centre, and Totally Toys brands as well as our own brand Addo Play. Outside of the UK we own the Poly Jugetes toy shops in Spain. We also have numerous Entertainer and Early Learning Centre international franchise partnerships.

As a Supervisor, you are going to make a real difference, playing a key role in coaching and motivating your colleagues and as an integral part of the management team, you will also have the responsibility of running the store in the absence of your manager. You will have to work hard, but we will offer you comprehensive on the job training and opportunities to develop and progress in your career.

As a Supervisor your key responsibilities will be:

• Maximising sales opportunities
• Leading promotional activity in the store, following merchandising principles and supplier funded activities
• Opening and closing the store in the absence of the Store and Assistant Manager, organising, and running the day
• Training and motivating your colleagues in their development and daily tasks
• Responsible management of cash and safe procedures
• Demonstrating an exceptional customer service experience
• Unloading deliveries, maintaining stock areas and controlling faulty goods

To become our Supervisor you must:

• Have a flexible approach and a commitment to help us resource the store effectively
• Have experience in a Supervisory or similar role
• Be confident in using computers and tablets to complete tasks and increase productivity
• Be a great communicator who understands how to engage and motivate others
• Have the ability to identify sales opportunities and drive new ideas
• Be able to work under pressure and be adaptable to change

We trade Monday to Saturday with no Sunday opening, so that day is for you and your family. You will need to work 5 days out of 6 including Saturdays and you need to be flexible to work extra hours and shifts especially at Christmas when we extend our trading day and operate extra out of hour’s shifts.
