Wellfield achieved its second Ofsted ‘Good’ judgement in June 2018. It is a highly successful comprehensive school, with consistently above national average results. An £8.5million refurbishment was completed in the summer of 2014, resulting in an excellent learning environment offering state of the art facilities. There is also a floodlit, FA standard, 3G multi-purpose sports facility on site which will support both the development of school and community sport. Situated only 8 miles to the east of Durham City the school is well located for access to the A19 and A1(M).
