The Role

An opportunity has arisen for a Study Director (I) to join the Bioanalytical Services team in Alnwick. This is a permanent position reporting to the Head of Bioanalytical Operations.

Main Tasks And Responsibilities Include
  • Perform role of Study Director, Principal Investigator or Responsible Scientist for bioanalytical studies.
  • Direct an operational team of Bioanalysts.
  • Write and issue relevant documentation (i.e., protocol/SAO/reports) to clients in a timely manner.
  • Participate in client audits, visits and meetings, advise clients and colleagues on developments in bioanalysis and analytical standards to be applied to various work types.
  • Contribute to policies, procedures & guidance’s that are critical to operation of bioanalysis.
  • Analyse samples from preclinical and clinical studies by ICP-MS, GC-MS and LC-MS.
  • Ensures work is completed in compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, internal policies / procedures, and client requirements where appropriate, reviewing and updating supporting documentation as appropriate.
  • Must work with due regard to health and safety of self and others and work flexibly to meet business needs.
The Candidate

The successful candidate will be educated to BSc or equivalent in a relevant scientific subject with ideally 3 years relevant experience. A high level of personal integrity and commitment is essential to this role, as is a flexible approach to new work challenges.

Other Skills And And Experience Required
  • A broad knowledge of bioanalysis supporting drug development.
  • Must have the ability to communicate key findings in context of drug development and awareness of current regulatory guidance.
  • Should be able to demonstrate good organisational, interpersonal and communication skills both written and oral.
