Kier Utilities keep our telecoms clients’ customers connected to superfast broadband, digital TV and the latest full-fibre gigabit internet services through the design and construction of new fibre networks as well as the maintenance of existing HFC networks.

The Streetworks Team Leader, sitting within the Operational Support section of the business, is responsible for managing the Streetworks Administrators/Coordinators and ensuring that all team KPIs are met and that SLAs set by local authorities and clients are adhered to. They will also be responsible ensuring that all streetworks related fines and audit fails are managed in a timely manner and communicated to the appropriate parties. This role is essential for delivery of work, as well as ensuring commercial adherence, and therefore the team leader will attend weekly calls with internal Commercial stakeholders to ensure that revenue is being protected.



Key Responsibilities

In this role you will manage the Streetworks team to ensure that all SLAs and KPIs are met and delivered, hold regular monthly team meetings and daily ‘huddles’ to ensure the team are aware of their performance, communication of Kier company updates and to gain feedback and drive best practice. You will develop the team through SMART objectives and goals and manage the induction, training and development of new team members, as well as monitoring accuracy and compliance of information provided to clients, 3rd parties and internal customers and work alongside Client to resolve any issues found in the streetworks area of work.

You will also ensure compliance with all Kier policies and manage any performance issues using the company disciplinary process. You will be responsible for ensuring timely production of all reports required by the client or senior management and to provide management support and cover to other teams within the back office. You will proactively communicate issues and successes with internal and external stakeholders and attend conference calls and meetings to collaboratively work to improve process and delivery. You will analyse data to hold subcontractors to account for fines and failed audits, keep record of unused permits to minimise costs and put actions in place to reduce this and have weekly meetings with Commercial team to ensure charges are being recorded appropriately.

What are we looking for?

To be successful in this role you will have previous experience in first line management and be able to provide mentoring and coaching to your team, you will have proven analytical and administration skills and be computer literate with an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office. You will be a self-motivated individual who is performance driven and thrives under pressure, you will be able to use your own initiative and proactively resolve issues and take pride and ownership of your work. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be client and internal customer focused, and be a team player whilst also being able to deal with conflict.

It would be advantageous of you have experience in an Operational Setting, experience in the highways and/or utilities sectors. Experience in street works permitting and knowledge of Streetworks, NRSWA and TMA 2004
