Job Title – Strategy AnalystFunction – Strategy, Corporate Communications and MarketingLocation – Nottingham – hybrid workingType – PermanentSalary – £37,00-£50,000Closing Date: 2 weeks from date of publishNHS Supply Chain are recruiting for a Strategy Analyst to join our Strategy Team. The Strategy Analyst will play an important role in identifying the requirements that NHS Trusts and stakeholders have on NHS Supply Chain and working cross-functionally to support the development of clear strategies that address these.This will involve leading on qualitative and quantitative analysis to support the development of strategies and workplans; identifying and articulating customer need as well as solutions; and undertaking horizon scanning of internal and external opportunities and challenges to develop effective recommendations.What does a Strategy Analyst do at NHS Supply Chain?As a Strategy Analyst you’ll facilitate and co-ordinate with multiple stakeholders from across the NHS Supply chain to develop detailed analysis, modelling and horizon scanning activities. You’ll influence and challenge established thinking and contribute to strategy development and implementation programmes, working cross functionally to communicate and raise the profile of strategic priorities.Day to day, you’ll
  • Contribute to the thinking and output of the Strategy Team
  • Lead qualitative and quantitative research to enable effective executive level decision making
  • Take the lead on the writing of business cases for contracts / tender process.
  • Lead on financial analysis and modelling and develop and apply market insights to support business planning and strategy development
  • Lead on horizon scanning to identify internal and external horizon challenges, opportunities and solutions.
  • Lead cross-functional meetings and workshops to develop and implement robust corporate and functional performance indicators.
What skills, qualifications and qualities do I need to be successful?Experience in corporate strategy development and analysis in large and complex corporateenvironments (either in an in-house strategy team or consultancy) with a proven ability to apply a broad set of strategic frameworks to solve real business issues.
  • Demonstrable experience in business case writing
  • Strong analytical skills are essential (both quantitative and qualitative).
  • Proven track record of developing financial analysis, modelling, and underpinning assumptions.
  • Experience undertaking horizon scanning from a breadth of internal and external sources and translating these into clear business recommendations.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to convey complex analysis into clear outputs and recommendations to a range of audiences, both written and verbally.
  • Strong understanding of the operational and commercial challenges faced by a business, and the factors that can derail the successful implementation of a strategy.
  • Experience of working in a matrix organisation with multiple stakeholders, with the ability to influence others and engage at multiple levels in an organisation.
  • Broad understanding of the health and social care sector, and both short-term and long-term policy issues.
