Strategic Talent Consultant – Associate Director – FSO - 12–14-month FTC or secondment – UK wide (excluding Belfast)This role can be based from any of our EY locations in England/Scotland. Please note travel to our London office and/or Newcastle office may be required on a regular basis.The opportunityPartner a Service Line across the UK&I –UK/FSO UK, ensuring the best people solutions are delivered to meet the strategic and operational imperatives of the business. Provide commercial people-related advice and guidance to leadership and managementReporting line -UKI –UK – SL STL and FSO UK – UK FSO STL with dotted line into UKI-UK SL STLYour Key Responsibilities
  • Work with the FSO UK/ UK&I SL Strategic Talent Leader to make a meaningful contribution to the development and implementation of FSO UK /UK&I and service line specific strategy which extends beyond the People professional discipline
  • UK&I: Work closely with the UK Sub-Service Line Leaders and SLODs to appropriately represent the Talent agenda
  • FSO: Attend UK FSO SL Leadership team meetings to appropriately represent the Talent agenda working alongside the FSO Talent Lead Partners
  • Contribute to the formulation of Talent Strategy linked to Business Strategy
  • FSO ONLY: Lead the deployment of FSO Talent strategy with SLs particularly in relation to talent management, leadership development, managing change, performance management and organisational design
  • UKI –UK: Support UK&I SL STL in the deployment of UK&I Talent strategy with SLs particularly in relation to talent management, leadership development, managing change, performance management and organisational design
  • FSO ONLY: Brings the service line strategy to life for functional Talent teams and brings the Talent strategy to life with the service lines
  • Creation of workforce plans (SWP) with each SL/Sub SL identifying workforce capability needs for the coming year – reassessing needs as required and in line with any EMEIA deadlines
  • Connects with wider Talent functions and COEs to ensure service is aligned and to a high quality
  • Creation of strategic talent plans (annually) - working with SLs at the start of each Financial/Planning year to map out their Talent needs including projects and initiatives
  • Support and advises senior management in determining optimal structures to support ongoing business needs and strategies and effectively lead on and project manage organisational change programs including TUPE, acquisition, integration, headcount management and liaise with the Change and OD Manager in the COE, as required
  • Evaluate requests and initiatives from the regional SL before deciding an appropriate response. Challenge and influence the business to ensure the most appropriate course of action and support leadership with shifting thinking and embedding change where necessary
  • Support the implementation of the ‘best fit’ D&I solutions, ensuring the deliverables of the D&I strategy are met, driving cultural change and belonging
  • Leveraging the HR Ops Centre of Excellence team to ensure cyclical, business as usual Talent activities are executed to a high quality throughout the year
  • Provide insight on People issues within the SL utilising relevant MI and analytics, providing a robust point of view on business decisions and their impact upon people
  • Ensure that the area strategic People imperatives are met within their service lines, e.g., talent management, performance management, leadership development
  • Act as an ‘agent for change’ within the SL, ensuring that organisational design/development solutions drive business transformation and change
  • Build and maintain influential relationships with business leaders and managers, working closely with them to co-develop solutions to meet their business needs
  • Establish effective relationships with members of the Talent centres of excellence to ensure that centrally developed products and initiatives meet the requirements of the business and that SL needs are clearly communicated to those responsible for delivering them
  • Partner with SL Partners and senior leadership team and Senior Managers, Associate Partners
  • Engage with the regional STL, Regional SL leadership
  • Team with the SL Talent consultants to ensure delivery of local agendas whilst aligning to One Talent team design
  • Collaborate with FS/ROI/UKI STC’s
Skills/Experience required:
  • Proven ability to influence at senior levels in the organisation, preferably in a professional services environment. Resilient, practical and a self-starter; comfortable with working on own and in teams
  • Skilled at employment law, OD and change as it relates to TUPE, acquisitions, headcount management
  • Demonstrates excellence in project and program management and Possesses leading edge knowledge of contemporary HR practices
  • Experience of making a significant contribution to business decision making, strategic planning discussions and operational planning.
  • Understands principles of coaching and talent management
  • Requires approx 6+ years’ experience in an HR role
  • Professionally qualified. A post graduate qualification in a Business or Human Resource discipline is desirable
