Job Purpose
  • The primary role of the Stores Technician is to perform the day to day running of the stores. This requires a detailed working knowledge of CMMS/SAP and strict application of business processes, to be effective.
  • The Stores Technician will perform all transactions via CMMS/SAP Inventory System to ensure that all Inventory (Stock), Vendor details, Purchase details, receipt details and physical inventory counts follow the PIUK Data standards and is appropriately captured for use in reporting and decision making
  • Provide onsite support to the stores function focusing on local purchasing activities and ensuring compliance to the PGT ways for working for store purchasing
  • Review key Stores processes based around GCS requirements, ensuring required reports are ran and signed by relevant persons and reports stored and readily available as required.
Principal Accountabilities
  • Processing stock replenishments, leading to receipt of goods inward and locating of items to stock locations. Interaction with suppliers for outstanding orders and escalation to Inventory Manager
  • Management of material price portfolio ensuring 100% accuracy of PIRs and PRs; liaising with suppliers and Tactical Buy teams to control competitive pricing and avoid invoice exceptions within CMMS/SAP
  • Ensure used parts are booked out against work order and the correct cost centres are utilised to ensure cost of equipment is as accurate as possible
  • Manage existing stores holdings to meet stores inventory scorecard KPIs
  • Generate requisitions for non-held items and service requirements for equipment, liaising with requestors to feedback expected receipt date.
  • Support in identifying engineering parts and identifying supplier details
  • Escalation of any non-COSHH items received to site through Stores to Safety team to investigate
  • Other daily tasks required in the running of the Engineering Stores
Job Dimensions

Financial
  • Support in reporting of Engineering budgetary spend, identifying potential risks and overspend
  • Follow stores processes for GCS compliance
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure OTIF KIP managed effectively and best price and most efficient lead time is sourced to drive site forward.
Decision Making Authority

Financial
  • Issue stock items in response to requests from site personnel
  • Perform rolling stock counts to ensure compliance with PIUK standards
Non-Financial
  • Apply the Stores Inventory strategy and drive compliance with the inventory KPIs
Qualifications/Requirements
  • In-depth knowledge of stores with a minimum of 3 years industrial experience preferably within a food manufacturing environment
  • In-depth understanding of key financial processes relating to Stores
  • City & Guilds in a relevant Mechanical/Electrical discipline
  • High level knowledge of CMMS/SAP or other stores planning tools
  • Computer literate. Familiarity with computer software (word, excel, etc)
  • In depth knowledge of Inventory and purchasing practices and systems
  • Good people skills to liaise effectively with customers and suppliers.
  • Concise and in-depth knowledge of CMMS system
  • FLT Driver
