A great opportunity and exciting position has arisen for a keen and enthusiastic Apprentice on a modern and progressive family dairy farm near Northallerton, North Yorkshire. The key role for a Stockperson is to raise the animals with optimal welfare and consideration for their needs throughout the different stages of their life.

This is an exciting position for someone with a positive attitude, who wishes to start and develop a career in agriculture and work with a high yielding, high genetic merit herd using modern technology. The herd consists of 180 Pedigree Holstein Friesians plus 150 young stock. The cows are milked by four Lely automatic milking robots.

The candidate must be reliable, hardworking, show attention to detail and have a willingness to learn new skills.

The role will offer a varied working day, including feeding and bedding of the dairy cows, youngstock and calves. Full training will be given on farm alongside an apprenticeship scheme at college.

This is a full-time position with flexible working hours including some weekend work.

Ideally the right candidate should have a keen interest in working with livestock.
