Hours:9:00am - 5:30pm (Mon - Fri plus weekend/out of hours work on a rota basis)

Salary:£19,000 pa plus company bonus (circa up to £23k)
Area: Based in Nantwich, Cheshire

Ableworld is the country’s leading retailer in the mobility market and we are looking to appoint a Support Stairlift Engineer to be based in our Nantwich workshop, checking in and reconditioning second hand stairlifts and also to carry out services and minor repairs on our customers’ stairlifts. The successful candidate will be someone who is looking to build a rewarding and a successful career in our company and we will offer full in-house training for the right person.

We are one provider who can do it all, tailoring our stairlift training programme to suit the right applicant who will feel a great sense of reward as they make a difference to the independence of the elderly.

Duties will include, but not limited to: -

  • Checking in stock, keeping matching components together and labelling accurately
  • Cleaning, checking and refurbishing second hand lifts ready for resale
  • Repairing and servicing stairlifts
  • Maintaining accurate stock control and records of spare parts
  • Travelling to other workshops to assist with stock movement

You will be proactive and have: -

  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Precision, attention to detail and ability to work autonomously
  • Technical competence (or be willing to learn) of an electrical and mechanical nature
  • Good manual dexterity and practical intelligence
  • Problem solving skills
  • Some computer knowledge would be an advantage
  • Experience of working as part of a team and independently
  • A flexible and mature attitude to work
  • Excellent communication skills along with a compassionate nature as we are dealing with vulnerable or elderly service users

A full valid driving licence is essential for this role as a van will be provided along with a mobile phone, tablet and all the tools you need to carry out the job.

A permanent position will be subject to a clear DBS check for which Ableworld UK Ltd will meet the cost and completion of a satisfactory probationary period.
