Position Summary:
Responsibility for running and upkeep of machinery and equipment. To ensure all machinery and equipment is running efficiently, checked and maintained within laid down specifications. To achieve production targets in accordance with daily/weekly manufacturing plan.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that all equipment is maintained in a safe and reliable condition
  • Carry out and record any periodic PPM checks which have been allocated and for which they are competent
  • Carry out any mechanical and/or electrical and/or setting work within factory (within the scope of competence) including any work as may be required in any unit
  • To assist in any training of other Production Technicians and to attend any training courses deemed necessary to enhance skill level
  • Ensure safe working practices at all times and adhere to any department rules and regulations
  • To be responsible for control of all machine settings
  • Inform Management of any occurrence or foreseeable occurrence likely to cause a breakdown
  • To set equipment to required standard i.e. to obtain optimum conditions to achieve cycle times and quality standards
  • To ensure wastage of material is kept to a minimum
  • To ensure that all relevant procedures are carried out in accordance with company conformance to ISO 9001
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Numeracy, Literacy & PC literacy skills
  • NVQ level 2 or equivalent qualification in processing and experience in a similar role
  • Travel as required
In addition for an Electrical Bias Technician:
  • Experience of specific automation / assembly equipment (HVL / HSL)
  • Servo control systems & programming.
  • The use of computer aided diagnostic equipment for fault location & elimination.
  • Plastics machinery experience, electronics & control systems.
  • Electrical installation & commissioning skills.
  • HNC or Formal electrical apprentiship, with city & guilds / BTEC qualification.
  • Up to date regulatory certification.
In addition for a Mechanical Bias Technician:
  • Intimate knowledge of hydraulics & pneumatics.
  • Fabrication abilities & skills.
  • Schematics, data & technical drawing knowledge.
  • Mechanical installation & commissioning skills.
  • HNC or Formal mechanical apprenticeship, with city & guilds / BTEC qualification.
  • Basic electrical competency.
  • Up to date regulatory certification.
