We are currently seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Software Engineering team which forms part of the Simulation Solutions & Services Engineering Department located in Burgess Hill, West Sussex, UK.

Responsible for software development activities from capturing of use cases and requirements through to verification and validation with both internal and external customers, including activities related to the adherence to schedules & budgets.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for success of the team in meeting planned program milestones and activities.
  • Participates in team’s technical activities in order to coach and influence the team.
  • Adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans and performance requirements, along with planning and budgeting.
  • Assigns technical resources to work assignments.
  • Addresses employee performance and development, both issues and career growth.
  • Participates in development of engineering bids to ensure success.
  • Enhancing the team’s capability, including the on-boarding of new hires.
  • Interacting with program management to ensure that scope is managed.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in appropriate discipline, with appropriate proven experience. In the absence of a bachelor’s degree, extensive proven experience
  • Proven experience to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams in a matrix organisation.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in simulation systems design and development.
  • Familiarity with software engineering processes and requirements and design capture tools such as Atlassian toolset, JAMA, and Subversion is desirable.
  • Strong teamwork orientation
  • Well organised and able to communicate effectively with engineers, leaders and customers.
