Job Overview

We have a vacancy for a permanent, Band 6 Specialist Speech and Language therapist to work in our supported and motivated paediatric Additional Learning Needs Speech and Language Therapy team.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, dynamic, and innovative with a commitment to providing high quality services with excellent health outcomes to children, young people and their families.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work in special schools across Gwynedd and Anglesey working alongside Speech and Language Therapy colleagues, and with Specialist teachers, Educational Psychologists and school staff. We are seeking someone who has experience of working within multi-agency teams, and experience of using of Alternative and Augmentative Communication would also be advantageous.

Existing dysphagia competencies are desirable but not essential and we will fully support the post holder to train and obtain certified competencies if needed.

Our department has established systems for supporting professional and managerial supervision and mentoring, and is committed to supporting professional development.

The population of Gwynedd and Anglesey is naturally bilingual and local services are provided bilingually in Welsh and English. A bilingual Welsh/English speaker is essential.
