Hours: 18.5 hours per week

Working Pattern: 3 days per week, between the hours of 8.30am - 5.00pm.

Weeks: Term time only, 40 weeks per year

Salary: £7,693 - £7,984 per annum (actual salary)

Pay award pending.

Location: Castleford Campus

Due to these roles providing personal care to female learners, applicants must be female (genuine occupational requirement).

We are looking for Specialist Learning Support Assistants with drive and enthusiasm who have direct experience of working with students with learning difficulties and / or disabilities.

If you would like to work in an educational setting and you are caring, patient and student-centred, then supporting our students with learning difficulties and / or disabilities may be the post for you.

As a Specialist Learning Support Assistant, you will provide non-teaching specialist support to learners. This will include providing personal care support to learners, including changing / maintaining personal hygiene, use of a hoist, and providing support at break time and lunch time which may include assisting with food and drink.

What We Are Looking For
  • Experience of working with students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities
  • Experience of providing personal care
  • Appropriate lifting and handling and personal care training
  • Hoist trained (or willing to undertake this training)
  • A minimum of GCSE grades 9 - 4 / A*- C in Maths and English, or equivalent, for example Functional Skills Level 2
You must have a flexible approach to working hours and a willingness to travel between our campus sites.
