An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Support Worker to join our Specialist Eating Disorder Service. Candidates with experience of working within S CAMH’s and/or adult mental health services would be desirable.

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic practitioner with excellent communication skills to join our dynamic multi-disciplinary team to help deliver a high-quality, effective service to individuals with Eating Disorders. You will be joining a very experienced, multi-disciplinary team of nurses, psychotherapists, psychologists, dietitians, and medical staff.

You will have a key role in complimenting the expertise of the team and supporting person-centred care and treatment across the HDUHB geographical area. There is opportunity to enhance your skills and develop professionally. To assist in the provision of Eating Disorder Services for patients and their carers under the direction of the Service Manager, Clinical Lead and/or designated deputy.

To work as a member of the Specialist Eating Disorder Team in the provision of an evidence-based service for patients. The service model follows the All Wales Eating Disorder Framework and utilises treatment approaches consistent with the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) and other National guidance.

To assist the team in planning and providing timely and effective care within the patient’s own home and other community settings as specified in the patients care plan across HDUHB.

You will also provide support to Eating Disorder patients admitted to the designated medical refeeding bed as needed.

Although you will be part of the Adult Eating Disorder Team, you will also work closely with colleagues in Specialist Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, ensuring effective transition between services in line with local and national policy guidance.

The post holder will also support the needs of carers and families.

To ensure swift communication of any concerns or risks and adhere to documentation policy and procedures.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
