This specialist role allows the opportunity to focus and develop dietetic knowledge and skills on the provision of service to those receiving Home Enteral Tube Feeding (HETF). Working alongside our specialist nutrition nurses you will manage a caseload of those receiving HETF across Anglesey and Gwynedd. You will also lead support to people with Motor Neurone Disease (MND). You will provide nutritional assessment, care plans and support to patients, families and carers at clinic, by telephone and in home visits as appropriate. You also will be offered the opportunity to maintain skills across other dietetic areas including specialist area of your interest e.g. diabetes, renal, gastroenterology.

Our Dietitians are encouraged and supported in considering improved and more effective ways of working. You will develop and broaden your leadership and team working skills, through sharing your innovative approaches and leading on audit, projects and training.

All our Dietitians have annual appraisals to identify development needs, with all requests for study leave considered.

Main duties of the job

To provide clinical nutritional advice and support to patients receiving home enteral tube feeding within the community settings; within outpatient clinics, by telephone and in patients’ own homes and care homes when necessary.

To work in partnership with primary care and community care settings..

To carry out audit and establish new and innovative working practices in collaboration with health, social services and other agencies.

To liaise with other disciplines and agencies in order to ensure co-ordination of care.

To liaise with dietetic colleagues to develop appropriate resources for service delivery, reviewing and updating content to meet changing demands.

Supervising and training Dietitians, Dietetic Assistants and students.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
