An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and committed individual to join our Clinical Health Psychology and Neuropsychology team. The department is based at Charing Cross teaching hospital and provides services to the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust (ICHNT).

This post has been created as part of the continued development of the ICHNT stroke services, which builds on our existing input into the Hyperacute and Acute Stroke Units. You will join two existing stroke psychologists to further develop the psychology input into the stroke wards. This post provides opportunities for service development, staff consultation and training, and research and audit, as well as for direct clinical assessment and intervention. As well as inpatient ward work, the post offers the opportunity to be involved in an innovative outpatient follow-up clinic, which affords opportunities to provide comprehensive neuropsychological assessment and/or psychological interventions.

There are strong links to psychologists working in other parts of the stroke pathway including on a specialist neurorehabilitation ward, in community neurorehabilitation teams, and in outpatient settings, which provides opportunities for collaboration and shared learning. There is an active departmental CPD programme to support learning.

We are looking to recruit an HCPC-registered, highly specialist clinical psychologist/neuropsychologist with existing post-qualification experience of working in a directly relevant area.

You will part of the Clinical Health Psychology and Neuropsychology department, which currently consists of 20 whole time equivalent staff working across a broad range of medical and surgical specialties within ICHNT as well as in other hospital and community settings. The Department is a friendly, supportive place to work, which is committed to clinical supervision, continuing professional development and career progression. We have a strong record of supporting staff to complete the knowledge and practice components for entry onto the Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists. The Department has excellent teaching and research links with Imperial College School of Medicine and the North London Clinical Psychology training courses.

This post would be suitable for a newly qualified Clinical Psychologist with suitable experience or as a specialist move for a recently qualified psychologist.

The post qualifies for the Inner London High Cost Area Supplement.
