WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
Bain & Company’s core business is helping client executive teams to make their companies more valuable. This may require a strategy to adapt to changing market circumstances, an improvement in operational performance, or a strengthened organisation. Bain frequently engages with external Advisors and leverages external partnerships to complement Bain teams to deliver results.
Bain’s Advisor Network team is focused on building and maintaining a scale network of Bain affiliated External Advisors. The BAN team manages policies, promotes visibility and use of External Advisors across Bain, plays a direct role in sourcing and managing External Advisor relationships and supports the operations of the network.
The BAN is a central team within Bain that collaborates closely with internal Bain stakeholders, including case teams, Partners and Practices. The team is comprised of leaders with deep experience inside Bain in consulting and program management and in executive search and talent research.
Responsibilities & Duties:
WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Specialist, Bain Advisor Network Operations will work as an integral part of the global Bain Advisor Network team. Their primary responsibility will include all aspects of effective request management when working with Bain Partners and Bain case teams to aid them in their advisor needs. The Specialist will furthermore be responsible for program management of BAN processes including advisor placement and maintenance of BAN network, as well as establishing themselves as the “go-to” person for internal stakeholders to answer their questions and requests. S/he will also play a key role in building the BAN program into a best-in-class program through building relationship with executives in the network and undertaking program initiatives.
S/he will work effectively and efficiently on multiple search engagements simultaneously through a combination of solid project management, proactive high-quality search execution and strong, team-oriented delivery against specific client needs. Facilitating the entire request process, from inception through to completion. S/he will also work effectively and efficiently on initiatives to improve the BAN program through setting and delivering on a work plan, suggesting solutions, and working with/influencing others.
The role will come with a high degree of personal responsibility and autonomy – the successful candidate will be able to build strong relationships with and communicate effectively with a range of senior Partners, internal stakeholders within the business (their internal ‘clients’), and senior executives. They will be credible as ambassadors for the wider BAN team, and through the delivery of excellent work they will become a trusted and crucial resource within the Bain ecosystem.
We seek individuals with strong research / project execution capability and excellent communication / relationship management skills.
Essential Functions

Request Management
  • Work with case teams on new requests for Advisors, conducting any required clarifications and coordinating with BAN Recruiter where applicable
  • Provide initial shortlist of suitable Advisors, run checks against staffing guidelines and ensure Advisor feedback is collected
  • Lead communication with case team and ensure adequate screening and interviewing of Advisors informing guardians of assignments

Advisor Management
  • Build and maintain relationships with Advisors, including contracting, onboarding, knowledge sharing, collecting feedback on assignments and the program
  • Identify gaps in Advisor network and communicate to BAN Recruiters
  • Coordinate legal documentation with BAN Legal and Advisor
Practice Management
  • Build and maintain relationships with practices in collaboration with BAN Recruiters
  • Be primary “go-to” person for practice teams and Advisors to handle program operations

Building BAN program
  • Contribute to BAN longer term initiatives to build world class Advisor program internally and externally
Qualifications:

Education

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, concentration in business strongly preferred

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in business administration with a focus on marketing or business process management preferred
Experience

Required:

  • 3-5 years industry experience working at a global, leading expert network firm or similar financial services firm with strong emphasis on relationship/process management at all levels of seniority
  • Experience with database management and searches

Preferred:

  • Past exposure in working with management consulting or professional services firms, ideally in a customer success function within a reputable expert network
  • Business proficient in French
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Required:

  • Ability to interact with senior management level stakeholders; Demonstrated success in working with senior executives and exhibiting sound judgment
  • Works independently, with attention to details and a high level of accuracy
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-time zone environment and ability to manage
  • Collaborative, team oriented working style and ability to work with a diverse range of internal and client team members; highly recommended by former colleagues
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and a customer service orientation
  • Desires to push individual boundaries, and an enthusiasm to discover creative solutions
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-time zone environment and ability to manage competing demands
  • Intellectual curiosity and energetic attitude to learn and develop knowledge
  • Exposure to consulting or prior consulting experience is a plus
  • Experience of working with/in Bain & Company preferred but not required
  • Advanced knowledge and use of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
