Job description

Chef Job Purpose:
Prepares speciality food for clients. Helps devise new methods of cooking and new menu items.
Chef Job Duties:
Cleans food preparation areas as determined by law and company policy
Prepares Speciality foods to the specifications of the client as instructed by Head Chef.
Organise food before the arrival of guests and ready to prepare as per orders
Makes adjustment to dishes to accommodate guests with allergies or specific diet
concerns
Coordinate with other employees in the kitchen to serve food in timely manner
Acts as liaison to front-of-house employees to ensure proper food service temperature
Prepare Seasonal and traditional food items according to recipes or company needs
Requests/Order ingredients and spices as needed in area of work
Operates various kitchen appliance such as a blender, oven, grill, or stand mixer as per
manual and safety of individuals and equipment’s
Portion control, arrangements and garnishes food based on menu and company
standards.
waste control management and dispose food according to food safety standards.
Assists other cooks during the food assembly process
Estimates expected food consumption and organises preparation
Butchers and cooks animal meat based on the restaurant atmosphere as per law and
food standard agency
Meets with customers to ensure a great meal experience
Prepares any necessary sauces or accompaniments before meal service begins
Stays open until the last customer leaves
Cleans up his/her area of work and assist the kitchen team to keep the kitchen area
clean after business hours
Communicates and follow instruction from Manager about how to improve meal
service and work area management.
Comply with all food related laws, food hygiene and maintains of equipment.
Skill/experience/qualifications:
1. Experience in Indian Curry, preferably milk Curry, South Indian Curry at the professional level.
2. At least 5year experience as a professional cook in a quality restaurant or hotel & experience to
supervise staff, high quality and hygiene standards.
3.Basic Computational Skills, Organisational Skills, Verbal Communication, Culinary Arts, Kitchen
Equipment Knowledge, Butchering, Knowledge of Authentic Kerala Cuisines, Creativity, Interpersonal Skills.
