Position: Sous Chef
Salary: £35000 P/A + Service Charge: £2,500 to £4,500 P/A
Establishment: Fine Dining Restaurant Hotel,
Type: Rosette/Michelin background
Location: Nr Newbury
Hours: 45 hours per week, 5/7 Days
Staff Accommodation: £263.90 - £300.00 per month inclusive of bills

A luxury hotel based near Newbury, Berkshire is looking for Sous Chef to assist in delivering exceptional service and exceeding customer guest expectations.

The hotel is celebrated for its dining experience, using local and sustainable seasonal produce to deliver a blend of old-world tastes and new-world approaches and techniques. My client is looking for a Sous Chef with a multi rosette background which, along with the Executive Head Chef, can help take the food to the next level.

Your main responsibilities as Sous Chef will include:

  • Supporting the Head chef with writing menus and developing a brigade
  • Ensuring food safety and health and hygiene
  • Develop and train the junior members of the team
  • Understand aspects of P&L and budgeting
  • Support the Head Chef in maintaining, ordering and controlling food stocks within a budget
  • To ensure food preparation and control meets requirements in respect to the set standards


Ideal Candidate:

  • Rosette/Michelin background
  • Experience at Chef De Partie or Senior Chef de Partie Level
  • Qualified to NVQ Level 1, 2 and 3 or Equivalent
  • Passionate about food
  • Enthusiastic attitude and willingness to take operation to the next level
