Sourcing & Procurement Specialist - (Part-Time, Job-Share and Full-Time)

Location: Swindon / Fareham but with flexibility.

The opportunity:

Lead the management and delivery of sourcing and contractual negotiations for Claims categories to support our overall strategic goals.

Manage key elements of sourcing deals such as deal architecture and project management in collaboration with senior stakeholders, working to contribute to the ongoing development and evolution of sourcing frameworks, processes, and best practices and ensuring compliance and management of cost variables.

This role is available part-time, job-share or full time. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time. Please talk to us at the interview about the flexibility you may need.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead sourcing deals, e.g. deal architecture, project management, negotiation and contract development.
  • Propose and lead initiatives to drive the ongoing evolution of sourcing frameworks, processes and best practices.
  • Support the development of sourcing strategy and category plans with the input of analysis and insight.
  • Identify, mitigate and escalate contractual related risks as well as commercial issues to ensure compliance and manage and control specific cost variables.
  • Research sourcing solutions and best practices and propose and lead initiatives to drive the ongoing evolution of tools and processes to improve performance and delivery of sourcing services.
  • Ensure the business is adequately protected, by executing and maintaining governance and compliance procedures and ensuring they are up-to-date and comply with local regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Provide specialist advice to address specific technical queries from internal clients and deliver appropriate solutions, in line with the organization´s policies and processes and regulatory requirements.
  • Attend key supplier events to build up and maintain a high degree of knowledge and insight into those categories you are accountable for.
  • Understand business requirements and priorities and have the confidence to challenge the status quo.
  • Responsible for obtaining all approvals as part of full management process from required functions depending on the deals.
  • Model behaviours that demonstrate commitment to corporate values.
  • Take action to manage your personal development and encourage others to do the same.

Your skills and experience:

  • Experience in working with external Third Parties.
  • A good understanding of contractual Terms and Conditions.
  • Preferred recognized industry professional qualification (e.g. CIPS) – but not essential.
