The Chief Digital & Information Office (CDIO) Directorate set the technology direction for HMRC and deliver IT solutions to enable HMRC to become a ‘digital by default’ organisation and to significantly improve availability, usability, performance and cost of operational IT systems.

As part of the Chief Technology & Design Officer team you will be working across one of the biggest IT estates in Europe responsible for designing, implementing and continuously improving HMRC’s key architectural domains and transforming HMRC’s IT capability.

As a Solution Architect you will be responsible for authoring architectural costed designs for a strand within an IT change Programme, under the direction of a Senior Solution Architect.

The role includes working closely with a wide range of business stakeholders to ensure they have a full understanding of the IT landscape and help them shape business thinking around exploitation of the IT Architecture to deliver HMRCs transformation.

You will work collaboratively with business stakeholders and technical architects to ensure a cohesive integration architecture of all solution components that meets business needs, underpinned by effective management of all architecture risks, issues, dependencies and assumptions therein.

Through collaboration with Enterprise Architect colleagues you will ensure designs align to the Target Architecture Landscape and the overarching HMRC IT Strategy and seek approval of Solution Design Documents from the appropriate governance forums.
