Solutions Engineer (IoT Connected Factories)Field-based (UK)

RS Industria has launched an exciting suite of innovative SaaS solutions allowing our customers to monitor and analyse their factory operations, energy and utility usage, equipment efficiency, and environmental impact and visualise all this data, allowing them to make impactful improvements and achieve operational, environmental and financial business objectives.We’re now scaling up fast, and you could be part of this exciting story!What You’ll Be Doing
  • Working with customers to identify the data needs in their industrial assets and the associated problem statements. Identify cost effective solutions to harvest existing data and collect new data
  • Working with the SaaS Sales team to Configure, Price and Quote customer IIoT implementations
  • Support to customers and users provisioning and onboarding the RS Industria solution, as well as ongoing post implementation technical support
  • Identifying emerging technologies that will enhance the on-premise capabilities of the RS Industria proposition
  • Inputting into the ongoing product development process, through an intimate understanding of customers problems and associated industrial data requirements
The Following Experience Would Be Really Useful To Have
  • Experience of industrial controls and automation engineering, and familiarity with a range of industrial and manufacturing environments
  • Subject Matter Expert level understanding of PLC, SCADA and fieldbus architecture with a strong understanding of industrial communication protocols, such as ProfiBus, ProfiNet, OPC-U, MODBUS.
  • Understanding of reliability engineering and how to use data to solve maintenance challenges – able to speak credibly with customer maintenance engineering teams
  • Experienced in the challenges of extracting data from control systems and devices such as PLCs and Drives
  • Understanding of IT systems such as IP networking, server architecture, edge computing
  • Understanding of the cyber security challenges within an industrial environment
  • Familiarity with the technology, strengths and limitations of industrial wireless communication (WiFi, BLE, LP-WAN, cellular etc)
  • Understanding of Operational Technology (OT) cyber security risks
