Solution Architect Farnborough, Hampshire / Hybrid (1-2 days per week onsite, 3-4 Remote WFH) Solution Architect required by a fast growing, thriving technology company delivering innovative and cutting-edge secure-by-design on-prem and cloud tech solutions into the Defence & Security Sector. As a Solution Architect you will work on influential projects which are already underway and in a production environment, as well as an exciting pipeline of POC / experimental work.   • Technical Playground A few details about the role As a Solution Architect you will help us to design and assure a broad range of information systems utilising cutting-edge technologies ranging from cloud-based data platforms to edge computing AI. To do this you’ll draw on your in-depth knowledge of the technology stack, from the network to the user application space. You’ll be the sort of person that can take a broad set of user needs and translate them into coherent and secure solution design to show new concepts whilst ensuring coherence with the environments they will be deployed in. You will be able to create courses of action to deal with any constraints as an integral part of developing innovative IT solutions to business and mission challenges. You’ll understand the difference between conceptual, logical and physical designs and be able to document you designs using the right tools. You’ll also have great interpersonal skills that allow you to engage with our many stakeholders and get your design over the developers who will implement them. Essential Skills
  • Strong organisational, analytical and system thinking skills
  • Understanding and experience of architecture analysis techniques and processes
  • Understanding and experience in systems and software engineering design across the whole lifecycle
  • Understanding and experience of key full stack technologies
  • Understanding the Principles of Secure by Design
  • Experience of Agile Development Principles and Methods
  • Familiarity with DevOps and DevSecOps practices, processes and toolsets; and Familiarity with the principles of IT Service Management
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and negotiation skill
  • Security Clearance to SC Level (ideally MoD). Desirable Skills
  • Experience within the Defence and Security sectors
  • Experience of taking systems into Production
  • Familiarity with typical enterprise integration patterns
  • Knowledge of “Big Data” architectures and associated tools such as Hadoop, Spark, Nifi, Kafka, Kafka Streams, ELK Stack, Spark, neo4j
  • Knowledge of AI/ML toolsets
  • BCS / TOGAF / ArchiMate Certification
  • ITIL Certification
