We are looking to recruit a Solicitor / Litigation Executive (with at least 3 years’ experience) to join our Personal Injury Department in our Hull offices to manage a caseload of claimant multi track RTA and EL/Pl files. You will be working as part of a friendly and ambitious team where everyone works closely to deliver the best result for our clients and their families. This is a busy and challenging role which offers a great opportunity for rewarding client work.

You will deal with all aspects of running a case from initial interview of client to final outcome, with an understanding of the issues involved in dealing with multi-track cases, such as costs and the litigation process.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Liaising with clients, counsel, defendants and other third parties.
  • Collating and reviewing documentation and evidence.
  • Expeditiously progressing cases in line with client expectations.
  • Actively engaging in Business Development to ensure high visibility of the department and wider company.
  • Regularly updating clients as to the current status of their case including regular updates on costs.
  • Adhering closely to client protocol and process.
  • Complying with the required standard for internal procedures.
  • Any other duties commensurate with this post.

Person specification

  • Commitment to excellence in client care.
  • Have experience of portal, fast track and multi track personal injury claims including litigated work.
  • Have experience of EL and PL claims.
  • Be commercially aware.
  • Be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Have a high degree of initiative and the ability to cope in a demanding environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, demonstrated by an ability to communicate accurately, clearly, and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent time management skills demonstrated by ability to organise and prioritise a complex workload and work to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work in and contribute to a team environment.
  • Solid experience in using a variety of IT packages. Use of Proclaim, Case Management System, an advantage.
