A recent internal move creates the opportunity for a Software Quality Engineer to join our Nottingham team working in a “squad” environment.

The Software Quality Engineer role is responsible for the validation of study software, reports, translations and change control using both manual (black box, functional and UI) and automation tools of Robot and Selenium.

The Software Quality Engineer/Tester role will be responsible for the overall test effort, quality, and timelines for assigned projects, taking ownership of the project and clearing any roadblocks that arise in day to day.

Responsibilities:
As a key member of the verification and validation function the Software Quality Engineer/Tester will involve the following;


Creates the test cases, test Plan, test Summary and traceability documents for studies. Provides test area with parameters for sample testing and specifies tests to be performed.


Assigns and coordinates testing tasks and monitors their efficiency and quality. This also includes follow-up on defects in the defect tracking system to help triage priority and disposition.


Participates in requirements and design specification reviews, anticipates quality issues and provides timely feedback when specifications are incomplete or inaccurate.


Executes integration, functional and stress tests (as needed) for database, web-based and handheld applications and hardware.


Follows all testing practices and procedures to meet regulatory compliance standards and good clinical practices.


Provides necessary data in support of audits (internal, external, and by regulatory agencies).


Creates and/or runs reports on the project management system and defect tracking system as requested.


Test automation – executes test plans based on hardware and software requirements and technical specifications


Attends project meetings and manages SQE effort for multiple assigned projects running simultaneously.


Provides accurate testing estimates to squad team.

Qualifications:
The Software Quality Engineer/Tester role will require the following education, experience, skills and knowledge

BSc, BA or equivalent in an Information Technology or related field required.

Software testing experience, with experience or knowledge of Jira and/or Jama preferred.

Strong skills in creating test cases/plans, performing testing and maintaining detailed documentation.

Familiarity with manual and automated testing software and tools.
