Due to an exciting period of growth, we are looking for a Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join the team. Reporting to our Head of Firmware Engineering, you will be responsible for ensuring software quality through all stages of the software application lifecycle across all YASA motor controller products.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring YASA motor controller software is developed according to the approved software development process
  • Supporting the implementation of process improvements to help reduce software defects, increase software quality and streamline development
  • Reviewing project work products for compliance with Automotive SPICE and functional safety process requirements
  • Monitoring software development activities and reporting on issues, trends and improvement opportunities
  • Ensuring traceability across the product development lifecycle
  • Performing internal software quality assessments and ensuring resolution of any non-conformances
  • Supporting customer project audits with external assessors
  • Facilitating the deployment of new software development processes across the software team.

Skills and experience required:

  • A relevant degree with previous, proven experience in automotive embedded software development
  • Experienced in the development of software quality processes
  • Familiar with industry best practices for software development
  • Good understanding of relevant standards such as Automotive SPICE, ISO26262, IATF16949 and DO-178C
  • Experience with requirements and lifecycle management tools such as DOORS, Polarion or codeBeamer
  • Knowledge of configuration management and version control methods and tools
  • Familiar with common QA methods such as FMEAs, FTAs and control plans
  • Ability to work under pressure while managing conflicting demands against tight deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A flexible approach to work
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and under own initiative.
