Synchro is proud to be working alongside a world class fashion brand and hugely successful organization who are now looking to expand their digital channels with an experienced Senior Product Manager who would like to be a major contributor to the digital transformation of the client.

Reporting directly to the Senior Software Engineering Manager you will be responsible for managing all the core digital engineering across microservices. You will be driving technical advancements on the core digital platform for Superdry as we continue to rearchitect and redevelop from the ground up. You will be responsible for the line management of a multi-disciplined high performing software engineering team working closely with other engineering teams. As the Software Engineering Manager for the microservices programme you will establish high coding standards and be responsible for conducting regular 121’s with your team. You will also help to foster an environment that encourages your team to think innovatively and create new and exciting digital products. This role revolves around supporting the team from all angles, acting as a dependable people leader for your direct reports, a knowledgeable member of an agile digital engineering team, and an ambassador for the digital team.

You will

• Be responsible for nurturing professional development of team members through regular 1:1s and coaching on career development
• Overseeing the lifecycle of our engineers, ensuring a constant stream of quality resource is readily available
• Your role will involve using various technologies and frameworks, leading a team of highly skilled software engineers in developing Java/Node Js microservices.
• Contributing and adhering to modern software development patterns and agile practices
• Defining a technical roadmap for your team that enables the product and digital engineering strategy
• Drive a high-performance culture, caring about the happiness of your team
• Working closely with other engineering managers to form a ‘horizontal’ team aligning on general engineering approach and delivery requirements.
• Actively encourages process improvement on a sprint-by-sprint basis through increased team velocity and process changes to the betterment of the team.
• Define team standards for operational excellence and ensuring the correct processes are followed
• Own the microservices software engineering worksteam and work closely with the product managers to prioritize work, tracking progress and managing stakeholder expectations across multi-functional teams

You have

• Have a strong technical background in microservices development and event driven architecture
• Experience leading/managing a team of highly skilled, multi-disciplined software engineers
• Experience leading and delivering high quality web and mobile software engineering projects, driving forward best practices
• Demonstrate the ability to empower software engineering teams to produce clean, tested and monitored scalable code
• Experience of actively building the team through hiring, coaching and career development discussions
• Work with the digital leadership to define what winning looks like, and formulating our strategies to get us there
